(More customer reviews)My 7 and 5 year old love this. I did buy my at a discount and can see that it is not worth the full retail price ( but nothing ever is). You do need a memory card and batteries and a little technical know-how (where to plug in the USB/AV cords) The sound is just fine when using the AV cable plugged into your tv, don't use the camcorder by itself for viewing or listening. The microphone is on the front so be careful not to cover it with your hand. I feel sorry for the other reviewers who don't get as much enjoyment out of this as my kids do. My advice would be to make sure you read the easy to follow instructions. Have fun.
