(More customer reviews)Purchased a couple of these day and night vision cameras with audio from a different online retailer and so far they've been fine.I have one peering out the window and scanning my deck in case some critter finds my small fish pond too interesting to resist. Fun!
The camera itself is basic with few bells and whistles.Focus refinement is done by twisting the lens manually until you get a picture that's satisfactory.The infrared capabilities seem to work well enough with a visible image in a dusk or evening setting.You won't see much of anything in pitch black darkness.
The camera cable is about 5' long and should be fine for regular web cam use but I added a 10' USB cable so that the camera could reach the window. Note that the audio cable is the same length of the video cable so you'll need to get extensions for both if you want to go the distance.That being said, one star off for not having the audio integrated with the video in the USB cable.
There are no drivers or web cam software included although on the packaging there is a web site listed that offers a very basic application.You can search online for other apps as well but most will want a subscription fee.
Using Win 7 64-bit OS, AMD Phenom 9600 Quad Core, and 6 GB RAM.
For the price of this night vision camera, I'm happy.
