This is the fifth backup camera I have had on a vehicle.When a lens wipe, (the kind I use on my Nikon D2x lenses), is applied I can see the condensation forming on the inside of the lens.This is when it is 82 deg. outside.Imagine what would happen at 10 degrees.Completely fogged and frozen I imagine.With my other cameras Toyota OEM (FUJITSU TEN or Eclipse), GMC or Kenwood Camera I could see 2 inches behind my bumper.With the EXR200 camera I can see no ground closer than 4 1/2 feet or 54 inches.I measured the total vertical viewing angle to be 70 degrees or 35 degrees down from the center line; I did not measure the horizontal angle.The Kenwood camera I measured was more than that, close to the 96 degrees they advertise.I am suspicious when all the other manufacturers list vertical viewing angle as well as horizontal viewing angle and Exonic only mentions one angle "150 degrees".Because of the type of camera and the angle of the back of my car the camera can not be aimed any way but straight back.When determining if you are going to hit something and judge distance, you need to be able to see your bumper.Before drilling any holes I recommend measuring all of your angles, especially when the camera angle is not easily adjustable after installation such as this one.
Except for the moisture issue, this camera would be excellent for observation purposes but not great for backing a car up.
This camera was represented to me as being new from the factory.
